Recently, I slid into church and took a seat on a vacant row. There were many empty seats on both sides of me. I began singing and worshiping along with the worship team, quickly becoming consumed by the joy and peace in the atmosphere. My focus was solely on God and the words the team was singing. I felt myself began to sway a little, moved by the cadence of the music. Several minutes passed, and I finally opened my eyes. It was time for the offering, so I looked in the chair beside me to grab my purse. It wasn’t there. For a millisecond, I panicked, until I looked over to my left side. My purse hadn’t moved; I had. While I was focused on the presence of God, I had shifted positions, but I was totally oblivious to the change.

Suddenly, I heard God speaking to my heart, “Yes, you have shifted. Don’t assume that just because you can’t feel or see a shift that nothing has happened. If you put your focus on me, I will cause you to move forward without you necessarily noticing the transition. You need only open your eyes to see that you have moved from where you were to another place.” It matters not how you start, but only how you finish. You are shifting toward your destiny. Finish strong!
